Palazzo Orlandi.

The subject of today’s Facebook post “If these walls could talk” is an image from the Palazzo Orlandi.

A late 18th century home, Casa Orlandi is located in Prato, a famous textile city close to Florence.  Richly decorated by one of the main Tuscan fresco painters of the day, Luigi Catani, the house was meant to convey a blend of the rising middle class and the ancient aristocracy.

Unoccupied for 20 years, the house was renovated in 2007-2008 by Italian architect and founder of b-arch studio, Sabrini Bignami.

The finished project marries restored frescos that had been covered by thick layers of white paint, with contemporary pieces from the mid century to present day. Saarinen tables and chairs, 1960’s lighting, original floor tiles, and local brocante pieces mix together

to create an eclectic environment worthy of a lively design conversation.

Take a look here and tell us… “If these walls could talk, they would say…

The Art of Seduction.

Dark, sexy, smoldering, and filled with the promise of whispered intrigue. For those bold enough to go into the dark, the reward is stunning. Rooms that envelop with the richness of dark saturated walls can bring us to places that, well, frankly make us blush. From the rich damask walls reflected in a gilded mirror to evocative black orchid, these images are not for the faint of heart.
